Who’s Bad – MJ Experience Lights Up Melbourne’s Athenaeum Theatre

ALook Production Services delivered a dynamic lighting and projection package for Who’s Bad – MJ Experience, bringing the energy, spectacle and iconic performance style of Michael Jackson to Melbourne’s Athenaeum Theatre.

Presented at the Athenaeum Theatre, Who’s Bad – MJ Experience celebrated the music and unmistakable stage presence of the King of Pop. Working with AT Management, ALook supplied a comprehensive production package designed to deliver the bold colours, dramatic effects and high-energy lighting synonymous with Michael Jackson’s legendary live performances. The lighting package featured more than 35 moving fixtures, including Event Lighting M1H420W LED spots, Robe Robin 300E LED washes, HAVOC zoom washes and Deluge M120 moving heads. Eight LED PanBars added vibrant pixel effects, while an Antari F7 atmospheric machine enhanced the dramatic beams and aerial lighting looks throughout the performance. Lighting control was provided by a High End Systems Road Hog 4 console, allowing the production to move seamlessly between intimate musical moments and spectacular, high-energy numbers. Alongside the lighting package, ALook supplied a Panasonic PT-RZ990B 10,000-lumen laser projector with a short-throw lens, providing powerful projection capabilities within the theatre environment. Additional staging, microphone stands, cabling, power distribution and transport services formed part of the overall production delivery. With a tightly scheduled three-day engagement, the production required a flexible and reliable equipment package suited to the demands of a professional touring show. The result was a versatile technical setup capable of supporting the distinctive visual style of Michael Jackson’s music, from dramatic silhouettes and atmospheric lighting to vibrant concert effects. ALook Production Services is proud to support live entertainment across Australia, supplying professional lighting, projection, staging and technical production equipment for theatre, concerts and touring productions.
